Fire Rated Doors

Historically, fire ratings have limited what is possible with stile and rail MDF or wood doors. Not anymore! Whether it is a 20 minute fire rated hotel door, or a 20 minute house to garage fire rated door, or a 60 minute fire rated commercial door, or even a 90 minute fire rated door for stairwells, you can effectively create a matching design across your project whether it be traditional, contemporary, or historic.

Supa fire doors feature traditional stile & rail construction perfectly matched to our non-rated doors. Importantly, our doors remain at the standard 1-3/4” thickness even on 90-minute ratings.

PATENTED CONSTRUCTION METHOD
We achieve this by using a fire rated core material that is only 5/8” thick. This allows us to maintain the gamut of designs, profiles, and panels options in any door up to 90 minutes.

WEIGHTS
Most fire rated doors will weigh between 150lbs and 200lbs in 1-3/4” thicknesses, but kindly contact us directly for exact weight for your sizing and dimensions.

THICKNESS OPTIONS
Fire rated door thickness of 1-3/4” can be built up to 8’0” tall, Fire rated door thickness of 2-1/4” can be built up to 9’0 tall with certain limitations. Please contact Supa Doors directly with your specific needs.

STC SOUND RATED DOORS
All doors come with STC sound ratings which can be found under the Technical Section | Sound Ratings. STC ratings begin at 34 and have become a critical consideration for every project. Please read the article on Hotel Sound Doors (under Technical Details) as a good general overview on STC ratings.

ADA COMPLIANCE
Fire Doors can also be freely customized to meet ADA requirements, including 10” bottom rails, special sized stiles, 3’8” or 4’0” wide doors, and extra viewers. For this reason, Supa Doors has become a leading provider of paneled MDF and wood ADA doors for senior living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and other projects requiring ADA and fire rated compliance.

HISTORIC MATCH
For historic renovations or preservation work, more and more projects desire the option to perfectly match the historic look of doors which often now are required to be fire rated!! Supa Doors’ manufacturing approach (Built to Order) allows for custom dimensions, custom profiles or mouldings, and custom panels gives design teams the ability to easily maintain the historic look of the doors even in fire ratings up to 1-1/2 hours. In fact, our patented approach allows for different design on each side of the door if only one side has to match. Historic matches have primarily been seen in life safety evaluation projects, courthouses, condo and hotel conversion, education, and landmarked buildings.

FIRE RATED GLASS DOORS
Adding an element of glass can often be optimal to creating an open and inviting area. See our full range of fire rated glass door options under our glass door section.

FIRE RATED WOOD FRAMES
Matching Fire rated wood jambs are also available which can be found under the Wood Jambs | Fire Rated Jambs. This is a perfect complement when a hollow metal fire rated frame is not ideal. Many custom sizes and profiles are available. Fire rated SideLites and Transoms are also available. Contact Supa Doors for details.

TEMPERATURE RISE DOORS
Supa Doors meets the gold standard for Temperature Rise Fire Doors, which means that the room-side (non fire side) does not exceed 250 degrees Fahrenheit at 30 minutes. See our Technical Section for more details about Temperature Rise Doors.
