What is MDF?
Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is an engineered made by combining wood fibers and adhesive.
Why Choose MDF over Wood?
Each material has its advantages and are ideal in different applications. Here are some of the reasons why projects choose MDF when it comes to doors.
1. MDF is isotropic - doesn't warp, twist or split like wood can.
2.
MDF provides for a smoother painted finish.
3.
MDF is an environmentally friendly product and in our case is made using a minimum of 86% recycled content.
Why choose Supa Doors over other stile and rail MDF door manufacturers?
Experience - Supa Doors has been manufacturing MDF doors since 1991! You'd be hard-pressed to find another manufacturer building MDF doors that long ago!
Design Flexibility - Because of our patented approach, we have design flexibility not available with standard stile and rail doors.
For instance, you can have a different design on each side of the door with Supa Doors (ideal for mirrored door applications).
Patented Construction - This unique process creates stile and rail constructed doors where every piece of the door is laminated to each other simultaneously, creating a continuous lamination. This process ensures that there are no weak joints where the stiles meet the rails. There is no other door that is made this way. (Watch a short video about how we build our doors!)
What does "stile and rail" mean?
Stile and Rail construction is the traditional process of constructing doors where each door is built in separate parts. The vertical sections (called stiles) and the horizontal sections (the rails) are individually profiled and then joined to provide for distinct square corner look where the stiles meet the rails. Panel profiles and depth can also be adjusted to achieve the desired look.
Are Supa Doors available for exterior use?
MDF is best suited for interior use, and therefore we do not offer "Exterior Grade" doors. Doors can be fire rated up to 90 minutes and can be used for closed corridor applications such as condo buildings or hotels.
Can I substitute glass for any panel?
Yes. Any design can have glass substituted for a traditional panel.
I don't see the design I am looking for. Can you still make it?
If you can draw it, chances are we can make it. Some of the most eye catching doors are special designs created by architects, designers, and homeowners. We have added some of these designs to our offering, and look forward to more participation by design professionals.
Are the doors available internationally?
Yes. We have supplied doors all over the world.
Are the doors available prefinished?
Yes. Supa Doors can be sent prefinished in any color.
Can you have a different design on each side of the door?
Yes. Supa Doors patented approach can allows our doors to be built with a different design on each side. This normally occurs when mirrored doors or a flush door look on one side is desired.
What makes Supa Doors environmentally kind?
